Background
Ryan started at the firm in 1998 after earning his degree. The backbone of the firm, he gained majority ownership in 2008 with Sheryl and became managing partner. Ryan currently manages the compliance and financial audits for some of the largest and most diverse tribal organizations in the country and has almost twenty years of experience in auditing Tribal governments and enterprises. He has worked within the firm to establish the most effective and efficient audit procedures for the performance of the compliance audit and Program Specific Audits for Tribal Governments.
In addition to performing audit and review engagements, Ryan has also performed numerous other consulting and attestation engagements for Tribes. Some of these projects include assistance with the placement of taxable and tax-exempt debt instruments, financing comfort letters, fraud examinations, financial reporting, employee exit reviews, consultation and audit for employee benefit plans, and review of internal control systems.
On an annual basis, Ryan attends the AICPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing Update and maintains the required education credits to perform audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards issued by the GAO. He has also provided training for Tribal Councils and Tribal Gaming Commissions, financial institutions, and accounting students at the University of Nevada, Reno on topics such as governmental accounting and auditing, tribal-state gaming compact accounting issues, net win accounting, and audit issues specific to tribal governments.

Ryan promotes financial literacy for grade school children through his work with Junior Achievement in Northern Nevada.
Interesting Fact
He can often be found at games for the Reno Aces, UNR football and basketball, and his children’s numerous sporting events. Ryan is a workout enthusiast, enjoys golf, outdoor activities like skiing and running, and looks forward to his family vacations every year. He also plays a mean game of ping pong.
