Sara Lee, CPA

Sara Lee, CPA

Background

Sara started at BlueBird in 2012 as a staff auditor and has worked her way up to Senior Manager, now handling several Tribal and Casino audit engagements. Her areas of expertise include Tribal and Casino financial audits, employee development and training, and audit report technical review.

Among her accomplishments are creating the BlueBird training program and committee to help employees grow, learn, and excel. Sara’s passions include forming strong and lasting client relationships, and her initiative and organizational leadership has led to creating seamless workpapers and binders, giving clients more efficient audits and saving time for our staff.

Sara previously worked in private industry and public accounting but enjoys the challenges that working in auditing can bring, as well as the positive, collaborative, dedicated, and diverse work culture at BlueBird.

Interesting Fact
Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Sara has lived in Reno since high school and loves to explore the Reno/Tahoe area and spending time with her nephew. She is very organized and was awarded the Dewey Decimal Award by our employees. Sara speaks and writes fluent Korean, teaches piano lessons, and is an active member of her church. She likes working out and tries to stay active through mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding, even though she isn’t able to go as often because of her work schedule. One of Sara’s goals in life is to visit Paris.

Joshua Peukert, CFE, CIA

Joshua Peukert, CFE, CIA

Background
Josh joined the firm in 2010 as a senior accountant and was promoted to Senior Manager in 2017. As the firm’s MICS Compliance AUP manager, Josh manages internal audits, Title 31 compliance, and various agreed-upon procedures. He has assisted clients in developing audit procedures that led to identifying money laundering and fraudulent free play utilization, as well as developing know-your-customer procedures to identify red flags in patrons’ backgrounds.

After earning his degree, Josh worked for a regional public accounting firm specializing in servicing Tribal entities. Josh frequently provides training sessions to Casinos during tradeshows, conferences, and as requested, and performs training sessions for the NIGA Commissioners Certification Training series.

Ying Vue, CPA

Background

Ying joined the BlueBird team in 2012 as a staff auditor. As Senior Manager, she now audits multiple Tribal and Casino properties and performs the quality and performs the quality and technical review for several engagements.

With expertise developed throughout her time at BlueBird, Ying now serves as a leader who manages and guides times of newer accountants to project success. She brings to her work expertise in Single Audit (Uniform Guidance), Casino audits, and financial statement preparation.

Before gaining early experience in governmental audits at a CPA firm in Sacramento, Ying’s hard work and persistence helped her accomplish the difficult task of learning English when she moved to the US from Thailand in high school. That experience, combined with her exchange studies in Austrailia, formed her love of travel and commitment to success, which she carries into her work each day. Her passions include family, travel, and the uniquely rewarding family culture of BlueBird.

Jamshed Kudratov, CPA

Jamshed Kudratov, CPA

Background
Jamshed joined BlueBird as a staff accountant in 2012, shortly after graduating with his Masters of Accounting degree, and has since been promoted to Manager. Jamshed’s areas of expertise are in gaming, state and local government, federal contracting, and construction. He previously worked as a tax CPA, overnight auditor, and graduate assistant and in the College of Business. He was a recipient of the Nevada Society of CPAs scholarship and a member of Beta Alpha Psi.

Peng speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and is a fan of soccer. His favorite teams are Manchester United and Real Madrid; whenever they play in the United States Peng will fly or drive to the game and is there cheering them on.

Randall Spierer

Randall Spierer

Background
Randall joined BlueBird in 2015 and is currently studying for his CPA exams. His areas of expertise include internal audits, Title 31 compliance audits, and 401(k) audits. His experience includes the supervision of multiple Tribal, gaming, and employee benefit plan audits. He has also supervised and performed internal audits and Title 31 compliance audits.

After moving from California to Reno, Randall’s work with the Robby Schlesinger Foundation gave him first-hand experience in perseverance, dedication to a cause, collaboration, and the power of a group to affect change.

He finds it hard to pass up any food challenges posted by restaurants.

He is currently studying for his CPA exams.

Chad enjoys taking trips to anywhere there is a beach to surf on. he also loves to watch and play basketball and his favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers. Sonny loves the art of eight limbs, a.k.a. Muay Thai, a form of aggressive striking martial arts originating from Thailand. He has also practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for several years. Sonny was born in China, has lived most of his life in the United States, and is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs

Background
Andrew is an enrolled Tribal Member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in Oregon. He has over twenty years of experience in casino operations and regulation in Indian Gaming. Through his experiences, he discovered the importance of networking and training, which led to the creation of nation-wide symposiums to address issues and concerns of the industry. In 2010, he was appointed to a nation-wide intelligence network known as the Tribal Gaming Protection Network. He started working for the firm in early 2015. Andrew assists in marketing, is a coordinator for our many seminars and speaking engagements, assists with our scholarship and screens applicants, musters up new clients, works with NIGA on their certification classes, and provides cultural training for our staff.

Kami Alt

Accounts and Administrative Director

Kami Alt

Background
Kami joined the firm in early 2015 as a receptionist. She had prior experience in retail and customer service but found she was seeking a more career focused profession, which she found with BlueBird. As Accounts and Administrative Director, Kami usually has her hands full with running the office. Hers is one of the voices you hear when you call the office seeking invoices or portal questions. She oversees anything related to human resources, manages accounts payable and receivable, and sees to other administrative items that may arise around the office.

April Dockrey

Marketing and Administrative Director

April Dockrey

Background
April started at the firm in late 2012 as the receptionist. She then moved to an associate position where she took over proofreading and formatting our endless reports. As Marketing and Administrative Director, April manages all the marketing for the firm and works with Kami to oversee the administrative and human resources aspects of the office. April is also our Employee Engagement Advocate, party planner, Newsletter writer, official package shipper, marketing expert-in-training, and tradeshow specialist.

Sidney Hopkins

Travel Coordinator & Receptionist

Sidney Hopkins

Background
Sidney joined the firm in March 2019 as a part-time receptionist. She was then made Travel Coordinator and full-time receptionist in July 2019. As receptionist and Travel Coordinator, Sidney spends her day answering calls, binding reports, and making travel arrangements for the auditors; as well as many other day-to-day office tasks.

Interesting Fact
Sidney is extremely passionate about animals and hopes to one day have a large amount of land where she can foster, rescue, and adopt many different animals.
